India's GSPC awarded early Jul buy tender for low $2.

Among Indian importers, state-owned Gujarat State Petroleum Corp (GSPC) had awarded its buy tender for early Jul delivery window to a trader, said sources. The buy tender was earlier closed on Jun 5 for late June delivery window however GSPC decided to cancel the tender and reissue it for early July window. One closed for early July window on Jun 9, was awarded in low $2 by GSPC, said sources.
GSPC, which caters the RLNG demand from ceramic manufacturers, gas fired power companies among industrial bulk consumers, frequently imports around one to two spot cargoes a month. However, with decline in demand, during Covid-19 outbreak lockdown phase, in April and May, spot import from the Indian importers were affected which eventually, prompted many importers like GSPC, Petronet, GAIL etc. to exercise force majeure to manage their losses.
