India Gas Exchange (IGX) soft launch trials conducted

India Gas Exchange (IGX), a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Energy Exchange (IEE) had conducted a trial trading on May 21.
According to sources online transactions were conducted for the testing purpose, with participation from major public sector companies like GAIL India, Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL), Indian Oil Corp (IOC) etc. Sources said online transactions were executed successfully, among the participants and this has paved a way for a full scale official launch of the India Gas Exchange, sometime next week.
IGX had launched membership enrolment couple of weeks ago and plan was to launch IGX full scale sometime in March. Between 35 to 40 companies had already enrolled sometime in April. However, the launch was postponed, following Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown, across India. Indian government had extended the lockdown till May 31, amidst rising cases of Covid-19 cases in India.
