ArcelorMittal seeks 36 cargoes for Essar Steel Hazira plant

ArcelorMittal has issued a buy tender, seeking supply of total 36 cargoes on behalf of Essar Steel which it acquired late last year. The cargoes to be delivered at an average of one cargo a month, starting from Jan 2021 till Dec 2023, will be imported through either the Petronet operated 17.5mil mt/year Dahej terminal or Shell operated 5.00mil mt/year Hazira terminal. The buy tender would be closed on Feb 5 with validity till Feb 8. Interestingly, ArcelorMittal has sought offers at a flat rate instead of prices linked to Brent or JKM benchmark.
