Excelerate Energy to replace existing FSRU with bigger one in Pakistan

Excelerate Energy of US to replace its existing 150,900cbm floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) in Pakistan with larger size FSRU with 173,400cbm size. New FSRU, under construction at Daewoo plant in South Korea, will be commissioned by April 2020. Excelerate Energy and Engro Elengy operated FSRU meets around 15% of LNG import requirement of Pakistan through the FSRU. Pakistan has two FSRUs operational through Karachi port, importing LNG for the energy starving country. The second one 170,000cbm “BW Integrity” is operated by BW group of Singapore and used mainly to import spot cargoes for Pakistan.
