Kinder Morgan resumes production at unit 1 of Elba Island LNG; Unit 3 likely resume by weekend

Kinder Morgan has restarted Unit 1 of the Elba Island LNG project. A small size liquefaction plant was hit by a fire in a mixed refrigerant compressor of Unit 2 last week. Kinder Morgan had shutdown Unit 2 along with two adjacent Units 1 and 3 as precaution. From the remaining units Unit 3 is expected to resume operation from late this week.
Each of the three units, with 0.3mil mt/year production capacity, were commissioned late in 2019. Shell has contracted entire production from the Elba Island liquefaction project which loads around three cargos a month.
